CUSTOM DECORATIVE ALUMINIUM BALUSTRADES
We modified our DR series to create a custom decorative aluminium balustrade.
This 29-storey building just off Queens Street–designed by Leuschke Architects–required a modern, minimalist deck barrier system. It had to be very strong (to withstand wind loads up to 3.5kPa) and had to be construction friendly to fit in an extremely tight construction programme. This project featured a special balustrade overlay designed to accommodate the non-standard tapered aluminium panels.
The interior void of this building is stunning; especially at night, and our products (Aluminium balustrades, louvres and screens) play a big part in this effect.
The screen panelling to the walkway on the southern elevation has panels weaving in and out of each other to create a mesmerising maze. The design was so unique and challenging that we built a full-size model which was concept and load tested, ultimately to destruction.
